Winter Arrives...or Maybe Not
After the last few weeks of very mild weather for November sometimes still 9°C at night, the weather turned this morning right down to 3°C, big shock, first day wearing the thermal leggings under the jeans but not too cold to use winter gloves......
Oh jeez weather has gone mad, back to 11° C today this is seriously very strange...
Started some winter work on the bikes, getting used to the cold out in the garage now..!!

Rory Gallagher Festival
Well went down to RGF on the Friday what a fecking great ride down 100 mile just wearing leather waistcoat and t shirt the weather was cracking, yea I know you ATGATT folk will be shaking at the thought of it, but I know the rules I take my chance.
Bit disappointed not many bikers there was led to believe by mates that there was previous years.
After a night of serious cider drinking and a very cold uncomfortable night in a two man ten, which may I add was made in China obviously for Two wee Chinese Men, not a very larger biker, I decided to go home.

1,409 miles in a month
Done my highest mileage in one month 1,409 miles and only April / May the weather has been great.
And the Morgster is running as good as the day I got her in fact she is running far better, the older she gets the better she gets, hope I have many more miles yet, Killarney the end of the month, 4th June weekend should be a bigger mileage record for me, I calculate maybe 800 miles just the weekend, if I don't go down to Cork.

20,000 mile service
Cant believe I'm doing a 20,000 mile service on the bike, I can remember waiting with impatience for the bike to be delivered well over a year and a half ago August 11th 2009 with 9,500 miles. now I have done nearly 10,500 mile on her, and have enjoyed every single mile, she is running better than when I got her and the next 10,000 and 20,000 will I'm sure be as good we have a lot of places to go and visit .

March Madness- Sun blue Sky 17C
I hope today is a reflection of how the summer is going to pan out the morning started out with blue sky and sun but a heavy sea fog drifted in, I took a ride over the mountain road above the fog, down the other side it had cleared so carried on to Buncrana and into Northern Ireland, rode through Derry and on towards Greysteel and Ballykelly, briefly stopping at Crindle near Limavady, then carried on the coast road and caught the ferry back into Inishowen where I met the sea fog again, the ferry was surreal blowing its horn every few minutes, by the time it reached Greencastle it was back to blue sky and sun for a warm ride back towards home. "great pre summer ride out"

Dublin Bike Show
5:00am setting to drive down to Dublin for the bike show, gonna be a long day.
didn't leave the house till nearly six the fog and weather was bad. Three hour drive there two hours at show and three hours drive home, would love to have done it on the bike, Maech is to un-predictable weather wise for such a long ride this time of year.
A few of the best bikes, well in my opinion Sorry for the quality, had a bad camera day...!!

God willing.

Dave Mann, ...More Than A Bit Strange..??
Bought this off an auction site,
This is the odd bit, I was thinking on buying it for a while but didn't bid, when I was at the Belfast bike show I bought a second hand book called choppers, when I opened the book at a random page feck me it was the same, so I bid and bought it when I got home.
feck was meant to be, it is one of my all time favourite Dave Mann prints...used to have it on my wall when I was a wee biker wannabe., Now it is on my wall again

Why I'm a Biker......
was asked by two younger people over the weekend why I was a biker and got me thinking apart from the answer "because I am" so remembered this video I had seen on You Tube, and after watching it if anyone still asks, then there is "no" answer,... for them

You certainly can't judge a biker by his ride.
It's amazing how things play out when i set out yesterday for a unplanned ride out I called on a mate who joined me we decided to ride over the mountain road to visit a lidl shop that was selling a bike alarm lock (which turned out as cheap quality as it's price) on leaving a guy with a wee Honda 50 started talking to me I was thinking he was just someone who aspired to get a bigger motorcycle, "wrong" turned out he has multi bikes, he mentioned he might have a KTR 600 Kawasaki for sale, great I've been thinking on a cheap enduro for a winter bad weather bike, when we got to his garage he had a Indian Chief he was rebuilding and a great looking BMW R1200C great looking bike, he also had a few vintage cars, so the moral of the story,
"Don't judge a biker by bike he is riding" (going back in couple of weeks to maybe buy the KTR)

New year new roads
Well Xmas has been a blur snowed in a couple of weeks but managed a few
good ride outs.
Some roads have acquired deep pot holes after the ice and snow.
One bad incident got home after a ride out stopped by the hose to get all the sand and salt off the bike, but put my foot down on the hose, it rolled and had to lay the bike down, no real damage clutch lever now has a wee dog leg shape but lifting the bike on my own, jeez she us one heavy bitch.
