Been snowed in the last two weeks, decided to give the bike a deep clean removed the tank to polish the heads and found a very disturbing fault, the fuel line form the tank to carburettor was almost worn all the way through, HD wanted €70 for a new hose, so off to the local agricultural tractor repairs (harley bashers will love that one) got a new hose and clips for total of €2, fitted today and took a test ride, jeez fecking cold but everything ran fine, lucky I found the fault now and not miles from home or even worse if it worn through all the way could of been nasty.

Winter has Arrived

Very unusual weather... TEN TEN TEN
What a great day very hot and blue sky, very unusual for October, but hey making the most of it.
One thing I do know is when the winter finally hits we will suffer greatly for this.
But the thought of the open fire after a fresh clear but cold ride out day in the winter arriving home to a open log fire and a wee winter warmer drink and a few beers are part of biking life here....!!
Bring it on March will be here soon enough then warm days again....

Quay Viper Rally 2010 / Weekend Run
Friday set out to the rally got the ferry decided not to camp, when i got there my tag was No 566 wasn't to much there bit disappointed but got my 1st rally badge in 28 years......
Saturday two boys from here decided they want to go so I go with them back on the ferry, when one of them check in, their No was 1,600 ish and a lot more bikes and stuff there far better than the day before...
Anyway some great bikes at the rally..
So this morning the boys decide to go to Donegal Town for a ride out a lot of bikes from the county meet there on Sundays like I said 140 mile round trip and it was cold but a great ride.
I'm always defending that it's a myth that stuff falls off Harley's, out on a run the weekend ad yes it happened, went to gear down after a long run with out gearing up or down, and nothing looked down "peg gone", luckly I found a hardware/gifts/toy-store shop open on a Sunday which is rare here.
covered just under 300 miles the weekend....
So purchased a stubby star screwdriver wrapped the shank in PCV tape to protect the thread then figure of eight wrapped the thing on the shifter, works grand.
All this is ok only for the fact I was riding with 2 BMW riders and two Jap riders, so you can image the Craic, how you get Harley parts from a toy store gonna have to put up with this one for a long long time.....
Orange County Choppers got nuffin on me.....

Another Sunday Ride Out
The weather was promised but from the start out it was a wee bit dull, but as the day went on it came to be a cracking day, took a trip down to Ramelton and then back up to Donegal Town via Barnesmore Gap.
(a description from a website): These are rugged and gaunt grey mountains which, from a distance, give off a hue of blue, and for three miles on either side the traveller is between massive cliffs and yawning rents cut by streams racing down the mountain and falling into the noisy Lowerymore river. This river keeps company with the main road as far as Lough Eske where it joins the River Eske. (also not my photo too busy riding through)
Donegal Town , great turn out of bikes got even busier after the photo was taken

Ireland's Most Northerly Point
Finally a break in the weather took a ride up to the Malin Head Ireland's Most Northerly Point, great day it very high up 22M above mean sea level, the Tower, which was built in 1805 as.a Lloyds Signal Station.
In its early days this was a major news link between America and Europe you could take a walk along the cliff top to Hell's Hole, a subterranean cavern into which the tide explodes with a tremendous force.

Belfast Harley Davidson Run
Took a ride out to Harley Davidson Belfast (Antrim) the last time I done this run last September it was freezin fog from the time I got of the ferry, this run was warm but cloudy got a few spits of rain strangely enough after the ferry coming home
The reason for going it was their 11th Anniversary bash, the band that was there was pretty good, but the hog roast thing was a bit disappointing only because I imagined a hog with a bar stuck through him over a fire.
Still got my eyes on a Street Bob, hey ya never no "one day"...

First New Post "Not a Born Again Biker"....!!!!!
Fitted Avon Venom front and rear, what a difference the stability of the bike and cornering, not that i'm a speed freak more of a cruiser, always enjoyed taking it easy and taking in the world passing by..!
After getting the Harley fitted with new boots and changed the filter and oil, I'm ready to get started on a new hopefully private blog.
Had a whole year blog before this and deleted before I realised I could of imported it before I done that.....FECK IT
I'm Not a born again biker, never stopped being a biker, but had a long regretful break from it, over the years away. every time i saw a bike on the road or parked, kept dreaming of a return, now I have done it I will be riding till the day I die.....
Hopefully that will be many years yet.
